Anderson Talisca will be eligible to play against Antalyaspor!

Updated: August 9, 2017

There has been some serious uproar concerning Anderson Talisca’s paperwork in recent days, with Benfica refusing to send Beşiktaş the necessary paperwork to request his license from the Turkish Football Federation.

Benfica claim that Beşiktaş were too late in paying the € 2.000.000,00 loan fee, as it was due before the 15th of July. Beşiktaş represenatives have refuted these claims and had already lodged an appeal with Football’s governing body FIFA.

FIFA have now decided to grant Beşiktaş a license for Anderson Talisca, so he will be eligible to play on Sunday in the Turkish league season opener against Antalyaspor.

Anderson Talisca did however miss the Turkish Super Cup against Konyaspor on Sunday, which Beşiktaş lost 2-1 due to a penalty in added time.

Beşiktaş president Firket Orman has made it clear that he will not cave to Benfica’s pressure, who want to call Talisca back, rumours in Italy suggest that Inter Milan are willing to offer €40m for the Brazilian talisman, which could explain Benfica’s sudden desire to call Talisca back from loan. However, as Beşiktaş have paid a loan fee, Benfica don’t have the right to call the player back. Benfica claim that Beşiktaş did not make all the contractuatl obligations on time but Beşiktaş deny these claims, this case could drag on still but Talisca will atleast be able to play this weekend.
