Beşiktaş director Deniz Atalay had some interesting things to say to Radyospor regarding a potential transfer of Martin Linnes in the January transfer window.

“We had agreed terms with Molde on the Norwegian right back Linnes, however they changed their minds at the last minute, things like this happen. Though we may be able to complete this transfer in the January transfer window.” said Deniz Atalay.

A member of  the Beşiktaş board, Deniz Atalay said that the reason why Beşiktaş could not transfer Norwegian right back Linnes, is completely because of the refusal of his current club Molde.

“Even though the meetings had been going well, without having signed a paper with wet ink, this transfer could not be completed. We had positive results with both Linnes and his club Molde. We had agreed terms. Unfortunately on the last day of the transfer window Molde summoned a last minute meeting and decided not to sell Linnes after all. We had accepted the terms that they presented to us, however they changed their minds at the last minute. They have the right to do so. If by the time of the January transfer window we still need a right back, then this transfer may come to life once again.” said Deniz Atalay

“He is not Chronically Injured”

Atalay, answered speculations surrounding new transfer Demba Ba: “When he was playing, the media kept on boosting about him (Demba Ba), however once he gets a slight injury speculations about him having a chronic injury start popping up. Are the criticisers professionals in this area, are they doctors? Just because he had an injury in the past, does not mean he will get injured again.”.
