Rumors surrounding Slaven Bilic

Updated: September 8, 2014

With the transfer done in the summer and the way Slaven Bilic had his squad play in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers it will be a suprise to nobody that the Eagles are tipped to challenge for the championship this season.

Besiktas lost the second leg qualifier game against Arsenal however and are now setting their sights on the Europa League, making both the Süper Lig and Europa League their prime objectives for the season. Rumors regarding interest in their coach have now started popping up left and right.

Besiktas is planning to give Slaven Bilic a longer contract. The Italian media is saying that the Besiktas board has planned to give Slaven Bilic, who’s contracts ends at the end of next season, a new contract at Besiktas. Especially in the games against Feyenoord and Arsenal, Bilic increased the interest in himself by his great performance against these teams. The Italian media is saying that Bilic could get a better contract offers from other teams. The Besiktas board is trying to avoid this situation and is planning to give Bilic a new longer contract at Besiktas.

Slaven Bilic, who was trainer of the Croatian national team and Lokomotiv Moscow, became the new trainer of Besiktas last season, the great performances he gave with the low budget provided to him last season and his great performances against Arsenal is still on everyone’s mind. Bilic has received awoken interest from both English and Italian clubs. A couple of clubs where the trainer is set to leave, Bilic is named in the media to replace these trainers. Besiktas’ board is hoping to prevent a situation where Bilic would be approached with a better deal and potentially leave the club by considering to offer him a new extended contract.

Slaven Bilic is the first coach that the Besiktas fans have truely believed in and have shown their affection towards since the departure of Mustafa Denizli. The board have listened to the opinion of the fans and are now planning to sit down in the winter with Bilic and his manager to renew his contract. The Croation trainer of Besiktas is always saying that he loves Istanbul and is looking positive towards a potential renewal of his contract.
