The group stage matches for Beşiktaş Integral Forex began on the 5th. These were the first official matches of the season before the start of the league.

Beşiktaş played their matches in Kayseri at the Kayseri Kadir Has Sport Court.

Beşiktaş would be without their point guard, Engin Atsür, in these games due to his injury.

Beşiktaş’ first opponent was the newcomers to the league, Darüşşafaka Doğuş. Darüşşafaka had put together a nice squad for the new season. Beşiktaş had played Darüşşafaka in their last friendly match in a friendly tournament in the final, but they had lost 67-64. This time they played them in the first official match of the season, but the outcome was the same as Beşiktaş lost 80-53. With this loss, Beşiktaş had picked up the first loss of the season and the group stages. Beşiktaş also lost Patrick Miller in this game as he broke his finger. Beşiktaş had to win the game tomorrow against Türk Telekom to keep their hopes of qualifying to the quarter final alive.

Points scored by the players: Armstrong 13, Broekhoff 11, Johnson 10, Miller 10, Muratcan 4, Caner 2, Stone 2, Kerem 1.

Beşiktaş pretty much played the same 1st half that they played against Darüşşafaka. They were down 14 at halftime and had trouble scoring as they only score 20 points in 20 minutes. The Black Eagles had to perform way better in the 2nd half if they wanted to still be alive in the group and they did just that. Even though they fell behind by 18 points at the start of the 2nd half, the team came back slowly, took the lead in the 4th quarter and ended up winning 72-62. Now Beşiktaş had to defeat Anadolu Efes the next night if they wanted to qualify for the quarter finals.

Points scored by the players: Johnson 19, Lofton 17, Armstrong 13, Kerem 12, Broekhoff 3, Muratcan 2, Doğukan 2, Stone 2, Doğan 2.

Unfortunately, Beşiktaş fell behind by a lot in the first half just like they did to Darüşşafaka and Telekom. Beşiktaş saw themselves down by 15 at half and they would’ve needed another comeback to win the game. It didn’t happen this time around though. The 3rd quarter ended with Efes being up 68-48 and the game ended with Efes winning it 82-67. Beşiktaş actually had many chances to reduce the point deficit and try to pull off another comeback in the 4th quarter, but they couldn’t score and then evenutally, Efes started scoring and that was the end of it.

Points scored by the players: Johnson 20, Lofton 12, Broekhoff 11, Doğan 9, Armstrong 8, Kerem 4, Muratcan 3.

Beşiktaş Integral Forex went into this season with completely new team and there’s even some players who are professional for the first time, like Patrick Miller and Tyler Stone. They need some time and they’ll perform better in the near future.

A transfer is on the agenda after these recent games. It’s looking like Kenan Bajramovic might be returning to the team.

The team will be play the first league match away against Darüşşafaka Doğuş on the 11th.
