The Turkish Basketball League started this weekend. Beşiktaş’ first opponent was Darüşşafaka Doğuş, who they played 2 times recently and lost both. They played away and were looking to finally beat Darüşşafaka after the defeats they suffered from them in a friendly and in the Turkish Cup.

Beşiktaş started better and played better compared to the game against Darüşşafaka in the Turkish Cup. It was a pretty competitive game and Beşiktaş even managed to lead by 10 points in the 4th quarter with 6 minutes to go, but they couldn’t hold on to the lead and gave the lead away with under a minute left and couldn’t go back ahead to win the game. Beşiktaş could’ve put the game away with a minute to go when they were up by 3, but Muratcan got blocked on a fast break and everything went downhill from there.

With this result, Beşiktaş started the league off with a loss and couldn’t manage to beat Darüşşafaka 3 times in the past 2.5 weeks.
