As the search for a new striker continues, the latest player to be linked with ş is Greek international striker Georgios Samaras, according to the news of (Haber 1903), Samaras who is currently a free agent after his contract with Scottish giants Celtic expired is wanted by ş Technical director Önder Özen.

Özen reportedly wants to see Samaras at Beşiktaş and will discuss the possibility with Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic before making a final decision.

It is said that Samaras, who is currently 29 years old, will be given a € 1.700.000/annum contract, with a € 10.000 match bonus, there have been no revelations regarding the potential contract duration.

Samaras’s Turkish representative Kanat Ayas spoke today and said: “Samaras wants to play in Turkey, there have been talks, but it is nothing serious, and no agreements have been reached. Samaras would like to play in Turkey, and the fact that Beşiktaş will play Champions League qualifying matches and possibly Champions League football interests the player even more. The standards in Turkey are good and Beşiktaş are looking for a striker. But as i said there is no official agreements, just talks.”

Last season Samaras played 27 matches for Celtic scoring 8 goals in the process, he also featured in Greece’s World Cup campaign playing 4 matches and scoring 1 goal from the penalty spot.
