Beşiktaş purchased Demba Ba at the start of the season from the English Giants Chelsea FC for €6.000.000, which has been the largest transfer fee paid during the Fikret Orman era.

A big investment for the club, given that they are building a brand new stadium with entirely their own funds and are also cleaning up their debt.

But it would seem that the 29-year old Senegalese hitman has already rewarded Beşiktaş by earning back his transfer fee due to his performance in European competition.

Demba Ba has scored 8 goals already so far in Europe, he scored 3 goals in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers against Feyenoord and he has scored 5 goals in 4 games in the UEFA Europa League group stages. With his goals he has earned Beşiktaş passage to the round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League with still a group match to go against Tottenham Hotspur to possibly secure the top spot in group C.

By qualifying for the next round Beşiktaş have earned €3.000.000 in prize money. Add to that the TV rights money which is roughly another €3.000.000 and the Black Eagles have already earned back their investment in Demba Ba.

Demba Ba has scored 13 goals so far this season in all competitions, he also gave 2 assists and played a total of 16 games.
