The Black Eagles travelled to Sariyer today for their first fixture in the Ziraat Türkiye Küpasi group stages (Group F).

Beşiktaş played in their red kits on this occassion. Sariyer are currently in 4th position in the Second division Red group (Which in actuality is the third division) while the Black Eagles are leaders in the Süper Lig.

Demba Ba, Gökhan Töre and Atiba Hutchinson were allowed to rest for this game and did not travel with the team while Veli Kavlak, José Ernesto Sosa and Ersan Gülüm remained on the bench for the full 90 minutes.

First goalkeeper Tolga Zengin made his return from injury while Cenk Gönen who had been standing in for him was also excluded from the squad to rehabiitate his chest muscle injury.

Cenk Tosun started instead of Demba Ba up front while Olcay and Kerim played on the wings, Oguzhan took the place as playmaker in the team instead of José Sosa. Atinç Nukan played the full 90 minutes in the center of defense.

The game started with an early goal from Cenk Tosun after only four minutes and the Black Eagles soon doubled their lead after 10 minutes when Ismail ccame down the left flank and served it up for Olcay who made it 2-0.

The Black Eagles kept the tempo high and created a lot of good opportunities to expand their lead however Sariyer’s goalkeeper Osman kept Cenk Tosun and others from the 3-0 and we went in to halftime with the score at ‘only’ 2-0.

In the seconde half Beşiktaş continued to dictate the pace of the game and that was in large part due to the efforts of Kerim Frei who up untill his substitution was constantly available for the ball and created a lot of dangerous attacks. He looked very confident going forward and came close to scoring himself several times in addition to offering other players the opportunity to score (among which Cenk Tosun).

The 3-0 was a result from a short taken corner, Ramon Motta had prior to the corner already tested Sariyer’s goalkeeper but saw his goal denied. But after the corner was taken short and played in to the box the Brazilian leftback got his goal and made it 3-0.

After that Slaven Bilic decided to bring in some young players: Furkan Yaman came on for an outstanding Kerim Frei, Ümit Karaal replaced Serdar while Tugay Kaya came on for Ismail. Bilic allowing several of his players to rest early on with his mind set on the Trabzonspor game over the weekend.

Furkan Yaman immediatly made an impact on the game as he managed to recuperate the ball on the right wing and took it in to the box and provided Cenk Tosun with his second of the afternoon making it 4-0.

There were several more chances after this and Sariyer had two great chances aswell after the 4-0 but no more goals were scored.
