Beşiktaş club president Fikret Orman responded to UEFA.com following the draw of the UEFA Europa League round of 16. Beşiktaş got paired with Belgian Pro League leaders Club Brugge KV.

“We might regard this as a good draw but any team who reach the round of 16 are good. If we play like we did like yesterday, any team would be OK for us. We would like to go all the way in UEFA Europa League.” Orman said.

Whilst Club Brugge may not be the biggest name that the Black Eagles have faced this year in Europe they are definitely not a side to be underestimated, as they’ve only lost once in the past 40-something games (recently against KV Kortrijk in the Belgian League) and showed their dominance in European competition aswell, ending their group without a single defeat and knocking out Aalborg with a 6-1 aggregate score.

The first tie will be played on the 12th of march at the Jan Breydel stadium in Bruges, while the second leg will be played on the 19th of march at the Atatürk Olimipyat stadium, which also is the 112th club anniversary of Beşiktaş JK. (Founded 19.03.1903)
