After the game Slaven Bilic apologized to Lig TV journalist Ömer Güvenç for a joke he made prior to the game.

Before the game Bilic jokingly said:

“Why are you so happy? Is it because Galatasaray won?”

Bilic went on to say after the game:

“Okay, iyi Aksamlar. First I would like to apologize to Ömer for the joke I made before the game. We all know that Ömer is a great Besiktas fan but also a model professional.”

With that out of the Bilic was ready to give his thoughts on the procedure of the game:

“It was a dramatic game okay, we scored late, very late. A great goal from Cenk, we never gave up. Of course when you see the time of the goal we were lucky to score. But if you look at the whole game, at 1-0 it was their keeper who was the best player on the pitch. After they scored a cheap goal on the set-piece it became very hard for us but we never gave up and Cenk scored a great goal.

But it was good, they showed already that they can play great football. But they are playing for me like they are in the middle of the table, they are good in keeping the ball and good at breaking your rythm and they gave a lot of space in attack but we didn’t use it well. But also they couldn’t create anything. But of course at this stage of the season it was a very crucial win for us.”
