Besiktas board plan to bring Jean Tigana back to Besiktas as head of youth development and academy.

Jean Tigana who was invited to Istanbul on behalf of Besiktas recently, met with some of his former players Serdar Kurtulus, Burak Yilmaz, Okan Buruk, Tumer Metin to name a few, but why was Tigana really in Istanbul? Besiktas have offered to discuss a possible role for Tigana at the club, if Tigana agrees he will be in charge of Besiktas youth development and academy, he will also scout for young talents to bring in to the club both in Turkey and abroad.

Jean Tigana who is known for his ability as a manager to work closely and bring through and develop young talents managed Besiktas for 2 years during the 2005-2007 seasons.  Tigana who is now not looking to do managing but still wants to remain in football might be coming back to Besiktas as our new head of youth development. Tigana who was recently invited to Istanbul for discussions with Besiktas will be invited to Istanbul again for final talks just before the derby against Galatasaray.

Tigana who brought up young talents like Burak Yilmaz, Bobo and Serdar Kurtulus in Turkey and talents like Thierry Henry, David Trezeguet, Louis Saha, John Arne-Riise and Abedi Pele around the world, is set to be looking very likely to agreeing to the offer Besiktas has offered. Tigana who during his time at Besiktas took youth development very seriously and watched our young academy teams very closely will be the eyes and ears of  our youth development and academy if terms are agreed, Tigana will scout for young talents as well in both Turkey and abroad.

With the foreigner limit set to increase to 14 foreign players next season, Besiktas are looking to start this new project with Tigana and are hopeful they can bring in potential world class talents to Besiktas with the help of Tigana. The board who have had long discussions with Bilic about this potential project, will start the project straight away in the pre-season summer camps in preparation for next season.
