By
Updated: July 12, 2014

Beşiktaş Integral Forex began the new season’s planning by appointing Yiğiter Uluğ as new general director of Basketball in place of Erman Kunter. Yiğiter Uluğ was born in 1962 and was a news reporter and writer. He has done many commentaries over basketball on channels such as NTV, Lig TV and NBA TV over the years and is considered as a person who knows quite a bit about basketball. Hopefully he will prove himself and will have a successful career at Beşiktaş.

Ahmet Kandemir will stay as our coach for next season after an acceptable season last year.

Ryan Broekhoff, Muratcan Güler, Doğukan Şanlı, Sabahattin Can Göndür are players from the roster last season who are going to be with the team for next season for sure. Chris Lofton is also another player from last season who will most likely be on the roster for next season as Beşiktaş have reportedly agreed to a 1+1 contract with him. An important young talent, Kartal Özmızrak, will most likely stay on the roster as well for next season but there are rumors that he might be leaving as he isn’t getting enough playing time.

Doron Perkins, Caner Topaloğlu, Bradley Buckman, Colton Iverson, Mehmet Yağmur, Gökhan Şirin, Tomislav Ruzic, Onur Çalban and Kenan Bajramoviç are the players from last season that won’t be on the roster for next season.

Beşiktaş Integral Forex made some important transfers to the roster for next season as well. Here are the official transfers ;

Engin Atsür: Engin is a 6’4, 30 year old point guard from Istanbul, Turkey who was transferred from Galatasaray. Engin played college basketball at NC State for 4 years. He was their starting point guard for all those 4 years. Engin was the 2nd best three point shooter in NC State history. Engin entered the NBA draft in 2007 but didn’t get drafted. After going undrafted, Engin decided to turn professional at Treviso Basket in Italy. He later on got an offer from Efes Pilsen for the 2008/09 season and accepted it. After coming to Turkey in 2008, Engin has stayed there ever since playing for Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray before making a return to Beşiktaş for the start of next season. Engin is an extremely talented point guard but got held back to injuries. He was only able to average 2.08 ppg and 1.92 apg from 13 games in the league and he also averaged 4.33 ppg and 0.33 apg over the course of 3 games in the playoffs last season. Beşiktaş was the team where Engin shined the most in his professional career and hopefully it will be the same for next season. Engin signed a 2+1 contract with Beşiktaş.

Caner Erdeniz: Caner is a 6’6, 27 year old shooting guard/small forward from Turkey who was transferred from Aykon TED Kolejliler. Caner began his professional career at Karşıyaka and has went on to play for TED Kolejliler and Maliye Milli Piyango in his career. Last season Caner averaged 5 ppg, 1.70 rpg and 1.07 apg in the league. He also made an appearance in the Eurocup quarter final with TED last year. Caner will be an important player in the rotation next season. The contract for Caner is unknown.

JaJuan Johnson: JaJuan is a 6’10, 25 year old power forward/center from Indianapolis, Indiana who was transferred from Pistoia Basket 2000. Johnson played college basketball in Purdue from 2007-2011 where he became the seventh highest scorer in school history and second in school history for career blocks with a total of 263. JaJuan was selected 27th overall in the first round of the NBA draft and went on to play for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. He also played in the NBA D-League for Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Canton Charge and Idaho Stampede. JaJuan was most recently at Italy where he averaged 14.7 ppg and 6.5 rpg over the course of 35 games. JaJuan signed a one year contract with Beşiktaş and will be a force to be reckoned with down low.

Patrick Miller: Patrick is a 6’1, 22 year old point/shooting guard from Chicago, Illinois. Patrick went undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft and later on decided to go professional with Beşiktaş. Patrick attended Tennessee State University and averaged 23.7 ppg, 4.1 apg, 4.5 rpg and 1.6 spg in his senior season with Tennesse. Patrick is a player who is good in all areas of the game. If Patrick can adapt to European basketball, then he will be a very special player. Patrick signed a 1+1 contract with Beşiktaş.

Tyler Stone: Tyler is a 6’8, 22 year old power forward from Memphis, Tennessee. Tyler went undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft and decided for Beşiktaş to be his first professional team just like Patrick Miller. Tyler last played for Southeast Missouri State University where he averaged 19.3 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 1.9 apg and 1.6 bpg last season. Tyler is a player who can score easily and get up high to get rebounds. He will be a significant player for Beşiktaş down low next season. The contract details of Tyler is unknown.

Kerem Tunçeri, Doğan Şenli, Willie Reed and Shawn James are other players who are being linked with Beşiktaş but nothing official yet.

In addition to the staff and roster news, Beşiktaş Integral Forex will be competing in the Eurocup next season.

Many people are sleeping on Beşiktaş Integral Forex for next season but if the young players that were brought to the team perform the way the coach wants them to and they can adapt to European basketball, then many people will be surpised with Beşiktaş’ success next season. Beşiktaş are looking like a team who will play fast and score many points from fast breaks with all these young players. If veterans Kerem Tunçeri and Shawn James transfer to the team, then the team will have a perfect balance of young players and veterans that will most likely bring success.
