According to Record:

The center back, Pedro Franco, is back on the agenda. FC Porto offered Besiktas Daniel Opare plus €4.000.000 for Pedro Franco. Daniel Opare is valued at €2.500.000. According to the Turkish media, Besiktas have rejected that offer. In the same article, Besiktas JK have expressed their interest in acquiring Silvestre Varela or Rolando. These two players have played for FC Porto for many years.

It’s not the first time that FC Porto has expressed their interest in the 24-year old Colombian center back. The first time that they gained interest in him was back in 2012 when he was playing for Millonarios. Last year, they tried to make a move for him but he eventually ended up going to Besiktas.

Ricardo Quaresma, currently at Porto, was one of Besiktas’ most famous players in the past. Franco played 37 games in all competitions this season and did not score any goal. Pedro Franco is still in the process of evolving, but this did not prevent José Pekerman from calling him up for the Copa América. He will be playing with Jackson Martinez, currently at Porto.

Besiktas bought Franco for €2.400.000 and he has a contract until 2018. The Turkish club ended up in third place in the league. They finished behind Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. They have qualified directly to the group stages of the UEFA Europa League and with the opening of their new stadium are eager to win next year’s league title.
