Beşiktaş turn their sights to Grémio’s Rhodolfo

After having reached the final stages in Andreas Beck’s transfer from Hoffenheim to Beşiktaş, the Black Eagles have now shifted their sights in search for a central defender.

Beşiktaş boardmember Erdal Torunoğulları and Gökhan Keskin have travelled to Brazil to negotiate with Grémio over their 28-year old captain Rhodolfo. Gökhan Keskin only recently returned from a scouting trip to Brazil. Where he was tasked to find a new central defender for the Black Eagles, he came back with a shortlist of names one of which apparantly is Rhodolfo.

Grémio had only yesterday denied rumors concerning Rhodolfo and a possible move to Turkey but various media, including NTV Spor, are now reporting that Beşiktaş officials have travelled down to Brazil to sit down with their colleagues at Grémio.

Rhodolfo can be described as a leader in defence, who at 1.93 is both strong in the air and good at reading the game defensively. Beşiktaş are looking for some experience to add their relatively unexperienced squad. With the addition of Hoffenheim’s captain Andreas Beck (28), they now hope to add Grémio’s captain Rhodolfo to their defensive back four for the upcoming season.
