Beşiktaş are currently focussing on finding a solid central defender as their top priority ont he transfer market. After having added reinforcements to the squad both in the left and rightback positions with Dusko Tosic and Andreas Beck, the club are now looking to inject quality in the center of their defence.
Gökhan Keskin went to Brazil to watch Gremio’s Luiz Rhodolfo. Keskin is expected back on Monday and give a report to Şenol Güneş about the 28-year old captain of Gremio. But Beşiktaş are also looking at alternatives.

According to Haber1903, Dynamo Moscow’s Douglas is the alternative to Rhodolfo. They report that Fikret Orman has left for Russia earlier today in order to negotiate with the player who played in 33 matches last season scoring 3 goals.

Douglas made an impact on the European fields when he played for FC Twente, Douglas is a Brazilian but they were impressed with him in The Netherlands that they encouraged him to get the Dutch citizenship in order to be eligeble to play for Holland. However, while he did get the citizenship, he did never actually get cappedfor The Netherlands. Orman is believed to have travelled to Russia to complete the signing of Douglas but there are also rumors that he has gone there for more than just a defender.

According to the media in the Netherlands, Douglas is also closely being linked with Sporting Lisbon, and a few days ago it was even reported that he had reached personal terms with the Portuguese club over an annual contract of € 1 million.
