Beşiktaş secured their second pair of 3 points this season after a highscoring victory away at Gaziantepspor on matchday 3 of the Spor Toto Süper Lig season.

The Black Eagles needed to rebound from the home defeat against Trabzonspor last week and did so with an impressive scoreline but also a deceiving one.

It proved to be a very difficult game for Beşiktaş as chances were rare to come by in the first 75 minutes of the game, the best chance came in the first half when Gökhan Töre found Olcay on the left hand side of the box, Olcay headed the ball in front of goal where Mario Gomez just missed it and Sosa could not get it in to the goal.

Beşiktaş dominated possession in the first half and had a few decent looking attacks but they still had trouble finding a breakthrough, Günes made a decision to change things up a bit at halftime as he brought on a second striker with Cenk Tosun instead of midfielder José Sosa.

This was a gutsy move but it did not pay off immediatly as Beşiktaş lost control in midfield due to having a an less, this resulted in several dangerous looking counters by the home side with John Chibuike, Camara and Larsson. However, apart from chance for Chibuike, Gaziantepspor did not manage to put Tolga to the test.

As the end of the game edged closer and closer it looked like this was going to be a scoreless draw but Oguzhan Özyakup’s sublime freekick goal decided otherwise.

After the opener the floodgates seemed to open, Cenk Tosun was brought down in the box by Arokoyo and converted the resulting penalty himself for his fourth goal of the season. After that two textbook counter attacks, with two assists for Gökhan Töre decided the game as Olcay & Kerim Frei got the remaining two goals. Cenk Tosun and Andreas Beck had a big part in these excellent counters aswell.

A good win, but a scoreline which does not properly reflect the difficulty the Black Eagles at tonight at the Kamil Ocak stadium. Nevertheless with 3 games played so far this season, Beşiktaş now have 6 points with 10 goals scored and 4 conceded.
