It was stated yesterday that the basketball staff was going make their decision for wether or not Chris Lofton was going to stay on the roster for next season. They have thought about the subject and have decided to keep Chris Lofton on the team. The previously signed contract with Lofton is going to be enforced. The contract is expected to be 2 years long with the 2nd year being a team option. The agreement with Lofton is expected to be announced in 1 or 2 days.

On the other hand, there wasn’t a problem during the meeting with Kerem Tunçeri and the transfer of Kerem is expected to be finished in a short period of time.

We kind of got lucky to keep Chris because his manager got into his head when he was about to sign a contract with Beşiktaş a couple of weeks ago and convinced him to look at other options. His manager talked with teams and searched for the contract that he was looking for Lofton but wasn’t able to find it. Eventually, Lofton and his manager came back to negotiate with Beşiktaş again when they couldn’t find what they were looking for.

Holding on to Chris Lofton was very important. Lofton proved his value last season with his shooting that saved Beşiktaş many games. He even had a couple of game winners. Chris Lofton will most likely play in the starting line up as a shooting guard next season.

The probable addition of Kerem Tunçeri will help Beşiktaş out a lot. Kerem played for Beşiktaş back in the 2005/06 season and became a fan favourite. Even though he is 35 years old, he still has a lot left in him. He can easily find the open man. Kerem can also teach our young guns a lot from his experience.
