Beşiktaş have given up on Marseille players Mandanda, Doria and Romao, according to Miliyet. Club official Erdal Torunoğulları went to Monaco for the draw of the UEFA Europa League group stages and also met there with Marseille officials for the transfer of these 3 players. However, he couldn’t reach an agreement with them, since the price Marseille was asking was too high. The club has now given up on these players and might even have closed their transfer plans.

President Fikret Orman did however go to Italy yesterday, and he took transfer broker Ahmet Bulut with him. They apparently went there for AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino. The 30 year old Italian has only 1 year remaining on his contract and is considered a good replacement for the injured Veli Kavlak and Tolgay Arslan.
