Mario Gómez is performing great at Beşiktaş so far, scoring 9 goals in 13 official games. This isn’t going unnoticed by German national team head coach Joachim Löw, who watched the striker play and score a goal against Kasımpaşa in the Başakşehir Stadium. He was accompanied by Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman, who praised Gómez.

Löw had this to say about Gómez’ game against Kasımpaşa: “I’ve been watching him since the start of the season. It looks like Gómez is back to his old self. He is running a lot and pursuing his chances. He is always looking at the ball. I enjoyed Gómez’ performance. It was a good match, the quality of the Turkish competition has improved. I also paid attention to Andreas Beck.”

Gómez wasn’t called up for the Germany squad for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil and he hasn’t played an international game since the friendly game against Argentina in september 2014, but it looks like his chances of being called up in the near future are looking good.
