Beşiktaş head coach Şenol Güneş had a press conference before the UEFA Europa League game against Lokomotiv Moscow tomorrow. This is what he had to say:

“My whole team is ready”

“The first half of the group has been played, in which we played 2 games on the road. We are in second place and the best 2 teams advance, so we have a chance to advance. If we win this game we have the chance to win the group. We are playing against the number 1 and a win would give us an advantage. We are playing against Skenderbeu after this game, while Lokomotiv is facing Sporting. Everything is possible but we need a win to get an advantage. We don’t have any missings, my whole team is ready. I hope it will be a good match.”

“Milosevic has a good vision on the game, but…”

“I’m happy about Milosevic in general. His vision on the game and technique with the ball are good, but he had some issues with closely marking his opponent. He didn’t have any trouble when his opponent was further away. This could be because of a lack of playing time but I don’t see this in a negative way. He puts the ball in play very well, he should just disturb his opponent more when he is in a closer range. Rhodolfo was lacking at first as well but he got better over time. We will get better when we fix this. Our opponents don’t come at us anyway but we won’t have any problems when we mark them well when they do come.”

“We are going to Bursa in a tighter spot”

“If a player is in a good physical and mental condition I will let him play, but when a player needs rest I will let him rest. That is what we do in some games. If a player is disrupted we will rotate. It’s not important how much minutes a player makes, it is important how much he adds to the team. Every player wants to be in the starting line-up, but we need a strong team to break our energetic opponents. We have had some time after the Kasımpaşa game to get our act together. We are going to Bursa in a tighter spot now. We are going to Bursa after 1 day of rest and 1 day of training. This is going to be hard, but we are only thinking about tomorrow’s game.”

“We know Lokomotiv’s game plan”

“We are going to have an advantage if we win this game. Everything is hard at first but it becomes easier when you succeed in doing the hard things right. Everything will be easier when we win our games. We know what our opponent’s game plan will be tomorrow, I think they will play in the same way. They will attack with Samedov, Maicon and Niasse. They have some problems in the heart of their defence. Corluka is suspended and their other stoppers are injured. It’s still a question mark for them who will play. They could change 2 or 3 players. They couldn’t win after our match but their game plan is still the same. They lost their last game with a big margin but they didn’t have a lot of pressure on their defence, all chances went in. We are expecting a defensive team tomorrow. It’s important what will we do when they go on the counter-attack, they use Niasse for this. The last match won’t matter when we win our next 2 games. We will go through as leaders then.”
