Beşiktaş – Sivasspor post match reactions

Updated: November 24, 2015

Şenol Güneş: “Our opponent offered us strong resistance. They are good in both offense as defense. We executed our game plan and created a lot of chances, but we didn’t convert them. We put a lot of pressure up front. The game could have ended with a bigger margin. We are trying to play the good football people expect of us. I congratulate my players. Our fans supported us well today. Atiba is doing his job. Gökhan was feeling uneasy the last 5 days and had a training gap, that’s why we didn’t let him play.”

Mario Gómez: “We are happy that we won. We got an important win today. We could have killed the game earlier. We put ourselves at ease with Oguzhan’s goal. I’ve had a tough week. I was sad of what happened. I hope these incidents will not repeat themselves. The world should be peaceful.”

Olcay Şahan: “We knew it was going to be a difficult game. It’s always tough to return to the league after a national break. I especially want to congratulate Atiba. He traveled a long road, came back and played a great game. We showed that we wanted 3 points from the start of the game. We had a lot of chances. I want to thank our fans. We are a big team and know our quality. There is a lot of competition in the team for playing time.”

José Sosa: “It was important to return to the league in a good way and to win this game. We are happy that we succeeded this. Difficult matches are awaiting us. Opponents start their games against us with a closed defence and they open up more during the second half, especially towards the end. We are trying to concentrate and take advantage of the spaces during this part of the game.”
