Jesús wants Quaresma back at old nest

Sporting CP coach Jorge Jesús wants Ricardo Quaresma back at Sporting CP, the club where it all started for the flamboyant winger.

Quaresma returned only this past Summer to the Black Eagles after a two and a half year hiatus, with a pit stop in Qatar and 1,5 seasons back at FC Porto.

Q7 was told he was no longer welcome at Porto after a falling out with coach Julen Lopetegui and was transferred back to Beşiktaş for a modest € 1,2 million fee.

Quaresma signed a 2+1 year contract and has scored 4 goals and assisted 2 in 16 appearances so far.

It is not entirely unthinkable however for Beşiktaş to be open to doing business with Sporting, Quaresma is popular with the fans and coach Şenol Güneş utilizes him in nearly every game but he is not the key player for the Black Eagles as he was a few years ago.

Much like his second stint at Porto, Quaresma is frequently used as a sub, or sacrificed at halftime if there needs to be an extra defensive injection in the second half. So the Black Eagles might be tempted for the right offer.

Sporting are looking for their first league title since 2002 and are well underway to making that dream a reality, Quaresma played an instrumental part in that last Championship for Sporting before joining Barcelona that following summer.

Many considered his Beşiktaş return as his career coming full circle, but perhaps he has one more big return left in him.
