Mario Gómez came to Beşiktaş on a loan spell this summer and for a long time many wondered about his contract. Was he signed permanently or not, and for how long was he going to stay? The real construction of the striker’s contract has now become clear, as it was a subject matter during the general assembly of Beşiktaş Futbol A.S. about the operating year between June 2014 and June 2015. The General Coordinator of the Beşiktaş Sirketler Grubu, Gökhan Sarı, has given the answer.

It has been made clear that Gómez was acquired with an option to buy him, which basically means that he has to announce at the end of April if he wants to stay or return to Fiorentina. If he wants to stay at Beşiktaş, the club has the option to take him over for the symbolic amount of only € 1000. This option will make him a Beşiktaş player until the end of the 2017-2018 season, which means it is a 2 year contract.

If the German does however want to leave the club, he can only return to Fiorentina. If he goes back and then signs for another club, Beşiktaş gets 50% of the transfer fee and an additional fee of € 1 million from the Italians.
