Ömer Şişmanoğlu’s new destination set?

After a successful loan spell at Eskişehirspor last season, Ömer Şişmanoğlu was loaned out to Torku Konyaspor at the start of this season.

A perfect match it seemed like as Konyaspor were desperate for a capable striker, something Ömer has proven himself to be at Antalyaspor, as a super-sub at Beşiktaş and last season on loan at Eskişehirspor. But this time around his loan spell at Konyaspor did not turn out to be a success, Ömer made only 3 starts in the league this season, coming on 8 times as a substitute, and managed to score no goals. He played twice in the Turkish cup thusfar, managing to score once.

Last week we reported that Ömer wanted out of his Konyaspor loan and for a brief while it seemed like that might open the doors for a Mustafa Pektemek exit, who has had several clubs interested in acquiring his services this past transfer window, but now Haber1903 are reporting that Ömer will be joining his old club Antalyaspor on a 1,5 season loan.

But will a return to Antalyaspor be a good move for Ömer’s career? With Samuel Eto’o being the first choice striker and Mbilla Etame having a good doesn’t seem very likely that he’ll be getting more playing time there.
