It looks like Ersan Adem Gülüm will stay at Beşiktaş until at least the end of the season. The central defender has been receiving interest from several Chinese clubs since this summer, but journalist Firat Günayer is reporting that Ersan will most likely stay at the club.
Ersan is an interesting target for Chinese clubs, including Demba Ba’s Shanghai Shenhua, because he does not count as a foreigner as he has the Australian nationality (Australia is part of the Asian Football Confederation). He seems however not willing to leave the club for a move to China at this time. In addition Senol Günes is very happy with Ersan’s performance this season and does not want to lose him either.
Günayer reports however that the chance exists he might leave the club if he would like to do so, as his wages will almost be 2,5 times higher than what he currently earns as an Eagle. This doesn’t seem the case though as Ersan had already turned down a very lucrative offer from the Orient this past Summer.
