Luiz Rhodolfo, who tore his MCL during the last league game against Gaziantepspor, succesfully underwent surgery yesterday. Beşiktaş issued the following statement about the defender’s surgery on the club’s official website:

“Our defender Luiz Rhodolfo, who had to leave the pitch during our game with Gaziantepspor because of an injury, has undergone surgery.

Luiz Rhodolfo’s right knee has been operated at the Fulya Acıbadem Hospital by the head of our medical staff, doctor Sarper Çetinkaya.

Our player had an arthroscopic MCL reconstruction.

We wish Luiz Rhodolfo, who is going to start his rehabillation period as soon as possible, a speedy recovery.”

Rhodolfo will be out for at least 6 months and is therefore going to miss the remainder of this season. He was already visited in the hospital by head coach Şenol Güneş, president Fikret Orman and several teammates.
