Matchday 31

With only four matches to go in the season the Black Eagles take on Kayserispor in their second ever home game at the Vodafone Arena. Beşiktaş, despite last week’s draw against Akhisar, are still in first position in the league with a 3 point lead on rivals Fenerbahçe and need a win to keep that lead going in to week 32’s derby against Galatasaray.

With two wins in a row, Kayserispor are now six points clear from the relegation zone and have some breathing space. While the Black Eagles can only settle for a win tonight.

Beşiktaş have no suspension, but several players are a yellow card away from a one match ban: Mario Gómez, Olcay Şahan, İsmail Köybaşı, Necip Uysal and Oğuzhan Özyakup. Andreas Beck returns after having served a one match yellow card suspension, he will almost certainly take Serdar’s place int he starting eleven. After last week’s dissapointing defensive display it is expected that Şenol Güneş may do some defensive shuffeling, putting in either Necip Uysal or Dusko Tosic instead of Alexis Delgado.

Last time these two sides met, Mario Gómez and José Sosa decided the match in the Black Eagles’s favour 2-1. Tonight the Eagles will wear the same kit combination as they did earlier this season when they beat Kayserispor; striped shirt, white trunks and white socks. Vodafone Arena is expected to be filled to capacity for this key match.

Wtih only four matches remaining, Beşiktaş are 10 points removed from their first championship since 2008-2009. A win tonight would put them one step closer to that long aspired goal.

Beşiktaş predicted XI:

Tolga Zengin; Andreas Beck – Dusko Tosic – Marcelo Guedes – İsmail Köybaşı; Atiba Hutchinson – Oğuzhan Özyakup – José Sosa; Ricardo Quaresma – Olcay Şahan – Mario Gómez
