Beşiktaş board member responsible for foreign transfers Erdal Torunoğulları is currently in France. NTV Spor are reporting that one of the players he’s there to negotiate with is Marseille’s Cameroon internaational defender Nicolas Nkoulou.

Nkoulou is currently on an expiring contract with L’OM and therefore available on a free transfer this Summer. Beşiktaş have offered the player a four year contract. Nkoulou has asked for a €2,5 million per year wage in addition to a €4 million signing bonus. The Beşiktaş board have determined that these demands are too high and want to negotiate a lower annual wage and signing bonus in order to not disturb the current wage balance of the team.

Aside from the 26-year old the Black Eagles are also looking at several other central defenders, including Torino’s Kamil Glik and Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel.
