Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports today that Beşiktaş are back in for Juventus rightback Mauricio Isla. And states that are “good vibes” between Beşiktaş and Mauricio Isla.

Beşiktaş director of football operations Ali Naibi was indeed at Levi stadium last night, but was he there for Isla?

Mauricio Isla might change shirts yet again. The Chilean full-back who is currently involved in the Copa América, is very much on Beşiktaş’ radar, the Turkish club’s represenatives travelled to the US to watch his match with Chile vs Argentina last night. Their director of football operations Ali Naibi was in fact at Levi Stadium alongside the player’s agent. The player was very excited to accept the Black Eagles’ offer whilst Beşiktaş and Juventus still need to reach an agreement.

Mauricio Isla was previously linked with a loan move to the Black Eagles last Summer but ended up joining Olympique Marseille. He spent the majority of the season playing in midfield for L’OM, Isla will offer Beşiktaş both an alternative at rightback and in the centre of midfield. Isla has made over 70 appearances for his nation Chile and had a very successful period in Italy with Udinese before joining Juventus in 2012.

Since joining Juventus he has spent two loan spells outside of Italy, making 26 appearances int he Premier League for Queens Park Rangers and 23 in the Ligue 1 for Olympique Marseille.

Beşiktaş have been strongly linked with a move for Fenerbahçe rightback Gökhan Gönül over the past few months, but with Isla they may find a cheaper and younger alternative. With Serdar Kurtuluş departing the club this Summer the Black Eagles are looking to add another rightback to their ranks as they only have Andreas Beck left for that position, Isla’s ability to play in midfield could also proof to be an advantage.
