Di Marzio: Beşiktaş interested in Graziano Pellè

Gianluca Di Marzio today reports that Beşiktaş are interested in Azurri striker Graziano Pellè, currently under contract with Premier League side Southampton.

Pellè scored Italy’s second goal yesterday in a 2-0 win over Belgium during their opening game at EURO 2016. With the future of Mario Gómez still undecided, rumours are running wild on who Beşiktaş may consider as a potential replacement for the German goalgetter.

Earlier today we reported that Tutto Mercato are linking Beşiktaş to a move for AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko and now Di Marzio is linking the Black Eagles with a move for Southampton’s Graziano Pellè.

A move for the Azurri striker seems difficult however as to many’s surprise he’s enjoyed a pretty successful run with The Saints. The Italian was a late bloomer, after initially having flopped at AZ Alkmaar he made a return to The Netherlands and under Ronald Koeman flourished as he scored 50 Eredivisie goals in just two seasons. He followed Koeman to Southampton and now, may do the same again as Koeman takes over at Everton.

Di Marzio: “Graziano Pellè was one of the protagonists of Italy’s win against Belgium, and now the Southampton striker has many suitors. In England both West Ham and Everton are interested, while in Turkey there is Beşiktaş- in addition there are also offers from China.”

While Edin Dzeko seems like a realistic target should Mario Gómez decide to leave, Pellè certaibnly doesn’t. We’d be talking about a pretty big transfer fee and he is probably likely to want to follow the coach who launched his career and has sustained it for the past four seasons, Ronald Koeman.
