Guti recommends 3 players

Updated: June 30, 2014

Former Beşiktaş and Real Madrid man Guti Hernandez made some interesting comments on Twitter last night during the Costa Rica – Greece World Cup round of 16 game.

He tweeted: “I would strongly recommend Beşiktaş to get Keylor Navas (goalkeeper), Bryan Ruiz (playmaker) and Joel Campbell (striker).”

Beşiktaş have been linked with a transfer of Fulham’s Bryan Ruiz (29) in recent days. Ruiz made a name for himself in Belgium (KAA Gent) and The Netherlands (FC Twente) before joining Fulham for € 12.000.000 in the summer of 2011. However the Costa Rican never truely managed to adjust to the Premier League. He spent the past 6 months on loan at PSV Eindhoven, but the Dutch are unable to afford his transfer fee.

Joel Campbell, who spent the last season in Greece at Olympiakos because he couldn’t get a work permit to play for Arsenal last year, will most likely receive that work permit this year and thus play for the Gunners. So he does not seem like a realistic transfer target for our Eagles.

As for Navas, with Tolga Zengin we have a very solid Turkish goalkeeper so I highly doubt we’d be interested in getting a new goalkeeper let alone a foreign goalkeeper.
