With all of the end of season excitement going on currently, the...
While playing for Beşiktaş Pedro Franco earned his first senior cap for Colombia and was part of the 2015 Copa América squad.
According to our sources the 25 year old central defender is set to join the club where he started his professional career on a one year loan. Whether the loan will include an option to buy is net yet known to us but it seems likely as Beşiktaş had included a two million euro buy out clause when Franco was loaned to San Lorenzo.
Pedro Franco is currently in Bogotá spending time with his family and it is expected that Millonarios will present him to their fans next week.
At Beşiktaş the Colombian defender experienced both highs and lows, it took him six months to get in to the first team but after doing so he put in a year’s worth of solid performances, including impressive showings against Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool in the Europa League. But former Beşiktaş coach Slaven Bilic lost confidence in him during the second part of the 2014/15 season and this seemingly had a severe impact on the young player’s confidence. During the 2015/16 season he struggled a lot with fitness issues and Beşiktaş’ new coach Senol Günes gave him few chances for this reason, his loan spell at San Lorenzo turned out to be a failure for the same reason.
