After clinching the Süper Lig title and becoming top scorer for Beşiktaş, Mario Gómez is now enjoying a succesful spell with Germany at EURO 2016 in France. However the big German goal machine’s future is yet undecided.

Beşiktaş and Fiorentina have started negotiations over the permanent transfer of the soon to be 31 year old German international with the player’s agent Uli Ferber acting as an intermediary. Fiorentina are demanding a 5 million euro transfer fee but Beşiktaş are only willing to go as high as 3 million euros.

As soon as the two parties manage to reach ana greement on the transfer fee, Mario Gómez will have the final say, if he decides to stay in Istanbul then he will move to Beşiktaş on a permanent transfer. If he would reject a prolonged stay in Turkey then Fiorentina will open negotiations with other clubs, with 50% of the transfer fee going to Beşiktaş.
