Gökhan Gönül presented at Vodafone Arena!

Beşiktaş’ newest addition at right-back, Gökhan Gönül, was today presented at the Vodafone Arena and signed a ceremonial contract together with club president Fikret Orman.

signing-GG77-hybrit-cim-1Gökhan Gönül took part in a photoshoot in the stadium and showed his footwork to the gathered spectators and press by holding up the ball, before putting his personal signature on the stadium’s hybrid pitch.

Gökhan Gönül. was the first ever player presented at the new Vodafone Arena.

As shirt number Gökhan Gönül chose the number “77”, which he had previously worn for many years at his former club.

After which Gökhan joined club president Fikret Orman in a ceremonial contract signing in which the player made his first public statements since joining the Black Eagles from their rivals Fenerbahçe where he had spent nearly a decade.

“I will always give it my all”

Gökhan Gönül assured the fans, “I may not always give the right pass or the perfect cross, but I promise you that I will always give it my all”. “Whenever I come across Beşiktaş fans I am met by happy faces, I know I have a great responsibility here”.

“My conscience is clear, I am very happy to have come to Beşiktaş. For the next four years I’m going to do my best for the club”, Gökhan also made a comment about his Eagle tattoo, “I’ve had my Eagle tattoo for over 15 years now”.

Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman made several statements himself, “Gökhan is a player I really like, he has great character. Plus black and white really looks good on him”

After the official presentation and signing ceremony Gökhan joined the squad at the Nevzat Demir complex for his first ever training with his new teammates.
