With the departure of Mario Gómez, Beşiktaş are looking for a now striker to transfer. It is now reported that the club has put Samuel Eto’o on top of its list and are looking to give Antalyaspor some cash and Mustafa Pektemek in return.

After president Fikret Orman’s statement that he “would like to see Eto’o in the team”, the transfer of the striker has been sped up. The Black Eagles can’t spend too much money because of the Financial Fair Play rules and therefore want to pay a part of the fee by swapping him with Pektemek and paying a sum of cash in addition.

It is expected that Beşiktaş will meet up with the manager and club of Eto’o in the upcoming days. Head coach Şenol Güneş has apparently also given his blessing by saying “I would never say no to a good Eto’o”. The 35 year old Cameroonian had a very good season at Antalyaspor by scoring 20 goals in 31 league games.

He currently has 2 years remaining on his contract and earns € 3.5 million annually, but it is reported that he is willing to lower his wage to make a transfer to Beşiktaş possible.
