Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg are back in for Beşiktaş icon Mario Gómez according to various reports in Italy and Germany.

The 31-year old German international led the Black Eagles to the title last season with his 26 league goals but announced earlier last month that he would not be returning due to the political instability in Turkey.

Mario Gómez is still under contract with Fiorentina but Beşiktaş are entitled to 50% of his transfer rights.

Italian media are talking about a 12 million euro offer but the more credible German media outlet Kicker speak of 7 million euros, meaning Beşiktaş would receive 3,5 million.

Gómez had previously rejected a move to Wolfsburg last month but as the transfer window is nearing it’s end it seems he could be returning to the Bundesliga afterall after a 3 year hiatus.

With the sale of José Sosa Beşiktaş now have 10,1 million euros to spend on transfers, if Gómez joins Wolfsburg for 7 million that amount will go up to 13,6 million.
