Today on Thursday August 25th 2016 the draw for the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League group stages took place in Monaco. Beşiktaş were drawn in Group B along with SL Benfica from Portugal, Napoli from Italy and Dynamo Kyiv from the Ukraine. Here is what Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman had to say about the draw and about transfer rumours:

“This is a difficult competition, a stage where everyone wants to show themselves. We are not pushovers, we are difficult for everyone. We at least didn’t want to be drawn in the groups of Barcelona and Real Madrid. We wanted to bring Barcelona to the opening of the Vodafone Arena but we couldn’t and now we aren’t facing them in the group stage. I hope we will meet them after the group stage. Our transfer works are still going on. A transfer is never finished without a signing but we are close to finishing them.”
