Matchday 2

With the Champions and Europa League draws behind us, both Beşiktaş and Konyaspor can put their focus back on the Süper Lig. The Black Eagles came away with an easy victory over Alanyaspor on the first matchday while Konyaspor struggled on the road against Rizespor.

Last season Konyaspor won this fixture with a 2-1 scoreline on the closing matchday of the 2015/16 season, with Beşiktaş already having been crowned Champions at the time. This time the match holds a lot more importance with every point counting this early on in the season. Konyaspor have sold the highest amount of season tickets apart from the Black Eagles and they’ll surely be looking to open with a victory in their first home game of the season against the reigning and defending Champions.

Beşiktaş will also be looking for another 3 points and establish themselves firmly as favourites to extend their title this season. It promises to be an interesting clash of two formidable sides.

The Black Eagles travelled with a full squad to Konya, including Adriano Correia and new transfer Anderson Talisca. However Adriano is expected to be rested after a hamstring injury last weekend against Alanyaspor.

Konyaspor’s key defender Jagos Vukovic is doubtful for the match after suffering an injury but he is expected to start according to various reports today.

Konyaspor predicted XI:

Serkan Kirintili; Ömer Ali Şahiner – Jagos Vukovic – Ali Turan – Nejc Skubic; Volkan Findikli – Mehmet Uslu – Amir Hadziahmetovic – Deni Milosevic; Dimitar Rangelov – Riad Bajic

Beşiktaş predicted XI:

Tolga Zengin; Andreas Beck – Marcelo Guedes – Necip Uysal – Dusko Tosic; Atiba Hutchinson – Tolgay Arslan – Oguzhan Özyakup; Olcay Şahan – Ricardo Quaresma – Cenk Tosun
