Matchday 3

Following the end of the International break it’s time for Süper Lig football once again with Beşiktaş taking on newly promoted Kardemir Karabükspor at the Vodafone Arena on Saturday.

The Black Eagles have a tough away game in the Champions League ahead of them on Tuesday against Portuguese Champions Benfica and it’s expected that Senol Güneş could perform a few rotations in his starting eleven. Atiba Hutchinson who is returning from his International duty with Canada could be spared in favoured of new transfer Gökhan Inler. Caner Erkin and Adriano Correia are both expected to start with Luiz Rhodolfo still being doubtful.

Şenol Güneş will also most likely be resting Oguzhan Özyakup and Ricardo Quaresma ahead of the Champions League opener, Oguzhan picked up an injury in the match against Konyaspor which he has recovered from but Güneş rather has him fully fit for the clash with Benfica.

One of the bigger surprises though will be the goalkeeper, Fabricio is expected to make his first team debut in an official match ahead of captain Tolga Zengin. But it is still expected that Tolga will be starting on Tuesday against Benfica.

For Gökhan Gönül, Caner Erkin, Anderson Talisca and Gökhan Inler it could also be their official debuts for the club, Vincent Aboubakar is expected to start on the bench.

Igor Tudor’s Karabükspor are a side not to be underestimated, while they may be newly promoted they have a squad full of quality and experience for Süper Lig standards. They played an excellent game away against Galatasaray three weeks ago (a game they should have always won but forgot to finish their chances) and they made quick work of Rizespor on matchday two.

The Black Eagles can not afford to have their minds on the Champions League confrontation with Benfica already and need to concentrate on Karabükspor, with several new additions to the team the backline should look a lot more stable this tweek and hopefully the new players can have an impact on the result tomorow.

Beşiktaş predicted XI:

Fabricio; Gökhan Gönül – Marcelo Guedes – Dusko Tosic – Adriano Correia; Gökhan Inler – Tolgay Arslan – Anderson Talisca; Caner Erkin – Olcay Şahan – Cenk Tosun.

Karabükspor predicted XI:

Ahmet Şahin; Kerim Zengin – Dany Nounkeu – Elvis Kukalovic – Latovlevici; Biyogo Poko – Ceyhun Gülselam – Abdou Razack Traoré; Dejan Lazarevic – Serdar Deliktaş – Mustapha Yatabaré
