TFF continue to decline Beşiktaş

The Turkish Football Federation has officially declined Beşiktaş‘ request to change their match schedule.

The Black Eagles asked the TFF to move their away game against Çaykur Rizespor from October 1st to October 2nd, but their request has been denied.

Beşiktaş play their Champions League home game against Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday, September 28th, and then have their league game against Rizespor on Saturday, October 1st. It seemed logical to move this league game to Sunday, but the TFF is not willing to move any games, claiming that this period meets the 48 hour between games criteria of UEFA and FIFA.

The biggest point of controversy here is that rivals Galatasaray play on Sunday, while not competing in a European competition at all. Beşiktaş are now going to play 3 games in 8 days, while their rivals only have 1 game in the same period.

The TFF had already previously declined an earlier request by the Black Eagles to move their match against Akhisar Belediyespor following their clash with Benfica in the Champions League last week. For some reason the TFF seems unwilling to accommodate the current Süper Lig Champions.
