Beşiktaş rested a lot of starters as they stand ahead of two difficult games in the coming week with Fenerbahçe in the league and an all deciding clash with Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League next Wednesday. Tolga Zengin got his first start since Fabri took over between the sticks earlier this season and several youngsters, including the highly rated Muhammed Enes Durmuş started the in the first eleven.
The first half ended in a scoreless draw and it was Kerim Frei who put in a star performance in the second half to clinch the 3 points for the Black Eagles. Initially scoring just past the hour mark after a terrific solo run finished off with a well placed shot, only to see his goal cancelled out two minutes later following a header from Ihsan Uğur Göktaş on a free-kick. But Kerim Frei would once again pull the spotlights towards him in the 86th minute as Necip Uysal sent him through on goal and he lofted the ball over the Darıca goalkeeper, who’s slight touch wasn’t enough to keep Kerim shot out.
The top two ranked teams in the group will qualify for the next round, Beşiktaş are currently on level points with Kayserispor who also won their opening match against Boluspor. Darıca Gençlerbirliği play in the Turkish fourth tier (3. Lig) while Boluspor play in the Turkish second tier (1. Lig).
