Beşiktaş’ newest addition Ryan Babel has arrived in İstanbul, on the contrary to earlier reports his family and Babel already arrived Friday evening.

The 30-year old winger capped 42 times for the Netherlands will sign a 2,5-year contract with the Black Eagles pending a medical examination later today. According to Haber1903 he will earn a total of 5,5 million euros including his signing bonus (2,2 million per season incl. signing bonus).

Ryan Babel will wear the number 49 jersey, a number he has previously sported while playing for Ajax Amsterdam.

Ryan Babel will be in attendance for the Beşiktaş – Gaziantepspor match later today before celebrating Christmas together with Atiba Hutchinson and his family.

Ryan Babel previously played for Ajax, Liverpool, Hoffenheim, Ajax again, Kasimpaşa, Al Ain and most recently Deportivo La Coruña, making a total of 149 appearances in the top 3 leagues in the world (La Liga, Bundesliga and Premier League) on top of 38 appearances in the UEFA Champions League and 16 in the Europa League. During his time at Kasimpaşa Babel scored 14 goals in 58 Süper Lig matches.

He had signed a six month contract with Deportivo La Coruña at the start of the season and made 12 appearances for the Galician side, getting on the scoresheet 5 times and providing one assist. His contract expires on the 31st of December 2016, making him a free agent. Therefore Beşiktaş will not have to pay a transfer fee but Babel will receive a considerable signing on fee, which as previously mentioned is included in the 5,5 million euros he’ll be earning over the next 2,5 years.
