Turkish Football And The Dawn of a New Era

Anderson Talisca celebrates his return from injury with a goal, he now has 6 goals and 1 assist in 10 official appearances for the Black Eagles!
Anderson Talisca made his return to the pitch after more than two months of injury woes, not counting his 30 minute appearance in last week’s charity match. He immediately put his mark on the match by scoring the opening goal in the 34th minute, he headed in an Olcay Şahan corner.
Beşiktaş had played some good football and put together a nice string of chances but goalkeeper Soner did well to keep in particular Ömer from getting on the scoresheet during the first half, while the defenders did their part with crucial blocks keeping out Talisca and Kerim Frei.
Unfortunately the referee impacted the game in a somewhat negative way by not allowing the game to flow and constantly stopping play for pretty much any form of contact. In part this saw to a less entertaining second half, with less free-flowing football and therefore less chances.
Olcay got another assist in the 72nd minute when he provided Ömer with a scoring chance, Ömer scored what might have been his last goal for Beşiktaş and was visually emotional but perhaps more frustrated than anything.
Beşiktaş finished the match firmly in control and with this win have secured a place in the next round of the Turkish cup. If Kayserispor beat Darica on Wednesday they will need just a point against Boluspor to also secure their qualification.
