Beşiktaş considering their options up front

The search for a new striker continues. Beşiktaş can’t seem to agree over the exchange of players Kerim Frei and Necip Uysal for Antalyaspor’s Samuel Eto’o. The plans have therefore been changed and the board is now focussed on 2 other strikers: Jackson Martinez and Fernando Torres.

While Beşiktaş have agreed on all terms with Eto’o, they couldn’t reach an agreement with Antalyaspor so far since head coach Rıza Çalımbay wants both Kerim Frei and Necip Uysal. The transfer of the Cameroonian striker has therefore been put on hold until 2017. If the club still can’t reach an agreement then, they will move on and look at alternative players.

One alternative is Jackson Martinez, who Beşiktaş want to loan from his Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande, who paid € 42 million for him. If the club can’t transfer Martinez, they will set their sights on Fernando Torres. He is no longer in Atletico Madrid’s plans, as he only got 180 minutes of playing time in the entire first half of the season of La Liga.

Some Premier League players are also on the list however, like Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony. He has been loaned to Stoke City this season and the Black Eagles are thinking of loaning him until the end of the season.
