Beşiktaş have made an official announcement to the public disclosure platform (KAP) that they’re in negotiations with English Championship club Birmingham City over the transfer of Kerim Frei.

Kerim Frei had notified the club that he wanted to leave as he felt he wasn’t getting enough chances in the starting eleven. Beşiktaş complied with the player’s wishes and have now accepted a bid from English club Birmingham City. Birmingham will pay an initial transfer fee of 2,5 million euros with an additional 1 million euros in add-ons for a total of 3,5 million euros (according to Murat Özen of Haber1903).

Kerim Frei joined Beşiktaş on 3,16 million transfer fee from Fulham FC in the Summer of 2013 and featured in a total of 109 matches, in which he scored 13 goals and provided 6 assists. But he was unable to establish himself as a starter, despite his obvious talents.
