Mario Mandzukić the latest striker linked with Beşiktaş

Beşiktaş might have inadvertedly found their new striker by transferring central defender Matej Mitrović. By doing so, the Turkish club has made a good connection with his manager and now has a better chance of getting another Croatian player: Mario Mandžukić.

The Black Eagles prefer to loan a striker until the end of the season and will make their final decision in the upcoming days. It is currently being reported that the board has closed in on Juventus striker Mario Mandžukić by building a good connection with his manager and are now continuing the negotations over his transfer.

If Mandžukić can’t be loaned, Beşiktaş will look at alternative players for the striker position. Jackson Martinez was also on the radar, but loaning him seems to be a difficult task. Shakhtar Donetsk’s Pylyp Budkivsky seems to be another option.

There have also been circulating rumours about a possible return of Demba Ba, but the Beşiktaş board isn’t very keen on that as head coach Şenol Güneş doesn’t want a player with a lack of match practice. Therefore the transfer of Ba seems to be off the table at this point.
