Rumours surrounding the future of Dutch International Jeremain Lens have been running rampant over the past few months and they’ve heated up over the past few weeks as the European football seasons are drawing to a close.

Jeremain Lens is currently under a two year contract with English side Sunderland but spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Fenerbahçe, where he’s been a rare revelation this season, putting in several noteworthy performances.

Turkish champions Beşiktaş have taken note to the Dutchman’s performance and have been monitoring his situation closely for the past few months. Rumours that Beşiktaş have entered in to negotiations with Sunderland over a potential transfer of Lens have been floating around for a while and today DHA published an article in which they claim that Beşiktaş have already made a €3,3m offer to Sunderland for Jeremain Lens.

Whether those financial details are to believed is another matter but Beşiktaş’ interest in Lens seems clear at this point. Beşiktaş are on the verge of winning their second consecutive Turkish league title and with that earn themselves a spot in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League, Beşiktaş want to qualify from the group stages for the first time in their history and are therefore looking to strengthen their squad. It is no secret that Beşiktaş coach Şenol Güneş has been impressed with Lens’ performance and likes the possibilties the Dutchman brings to the table.

Alongside Beşiktaş, Dutch chamipons Feyenoord have also been linked with Jeremain Lens over the past couple of weeks while Fenerbahçe are also hoping to keep him at the club, but with Beşiktaş being able to offer the player Champions League football, they could have the edge while Feyenoord will be unable to match the financial package offered by both Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe.
