Dick Advocaat is still on the bench at Fenerbahçe until Saturday afternoon, but the experienced Dutch coach has also recently been appointed as coach of the Dutch national team.
Jeremain Lens joined Fenerbahçe on loan from Sunderland last Summer, following his mentor Dick Advocaat under who he had already played at PSV Eindhoven and Sunderland, but with Advocaat’s departure following Saturday’s match against Adanaspor Lens is unwilling to prolong his stay with the Yellow Canaries.
One of his options are Beşiktaş and Dick Advocaat has reportedly told Lens: “Go to Beşiktaş so you will play in the Champions League next season”. Advocaat is known to be keen on Jeremain Lens and naturally wants him to play at the highest possible level this coming season so he can contribute to the Dutch national team. But it is still remarkable for the current Fenerbahçe coach to advise one of their star players to jump ship to one of their biggest rivals.
