Spor Toto Süperlig week 2
Beşiktaş JK – Çaykur Rizespor
Location: Atatürk Olimpiyat, Istanbul
Referee: Hüseyin Göçek

In week 2 of the ‘Süleyman Seba’ Spor Toto Süperlig the Black Eagles will be taking on the Black sea side Çaykur Rizespor, coached by former Beşiktaş captain Mehmet Özdilek. The Eagles got all three points two weeks ago away at Mersin and are looking to keep their perfect track record intact.

Despite the international break giving some players the time to heal up injuries there will still be some key players who will have to miss the game tonight. Newly transferred Argentina playmaker José Sosa will have to sit this one out due to injury, Oguzhan Özyakup suffered an injury during the international break and still has one match left on the two match suspension he suffered in week 34 of last season when he received a red card against Gençlerbirligi for a dangerous foul on Jean-Jaques Gosso, which will leave Slaven Bilic without a real option at the playmaker position.

Whether Bilic will opt for Necip Uysal or a more creative alternative like Gökhan Töre in midfield will remain touch and go untill kick-off time.

Demba Ba, who’s returning from a hamstring injury, will most likely be included in the matchday squad starting on the bench. Cenk Tosun and Mustafa Pektemek are looking to start again just like they did two weeks ago against Mersin Idmanyurdu (where Cenk Tosun scored the only goal of the game).

Tolga Zengin will be making his first team return after missing the first league game of the season due to injury.

Beşiktaş predicted XI (4-3-3):

29. Tolga Zengin

3. Ismail Köybaşi
19. Pedro C. Franco (6. Tomas Sivok)
22. Ersan Adem Gülüm
31. Ramon Motta

8. Veli Kavlak
13. Atiba Hutchinson
7. Gökhan Töre (20. Necip Uysal)

10. Olcay Sahan
11. Mustafa Pektemek
23. Cenk Tosun

Last season both games ended on a draw, 2-2 away at Rizespor after two dodgey penalty calls in favour of the home side and 0-0 in Istanbul.

The Eagles aren’t the only ones who are lacking some players however, so are Rizespor: Godfrey Oboabona, Oğuzhan Berber, Liban Abdi, Sezer Özmen, Tevfik Köse and Ludovic Sylvestre will all miss tonight’s game. Lualua who was doubtful for this will play however.

Çaykur Rizespor predicted lineup (4-3-3): Serkan Kırıntılı; Koray Altınay, Ousmane Viera, Giray Kaçar, Ali Adnan; Kıvanç Karakaş, Kağan Söylemezgiller, Murat Duruer; Filip Holosko, Lualua, Kweuke

With a win tonight the Black Eagles would move top of the table, two points clear of rivals Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. Only Akhisar Belediyespor who are playing simultaniously against Sivasspor tonight will have the opportunity to match a potential ‘perfect’ start to the season with a win in Manisa against Sivas.
