Updated: May 19, 2015

After the loss against Torku Konyaspor, Beşiktaş losing their chances for the title and Slaven Bilic talking like he’s about to leave after the game, it’s been revealed that the Beşiktaş board have started their preparations for this way before.

According to Habertürk’s Meriç Müldür, after the 1-1 draw against Gaziantepspor, it was clear that Beşiktaş wouldn’t continue with Bilic next season and Fikret Orman secretly flew out to Ukraine.

He met up with Shaktar Donetsk’s coach, Mircea Lucescu, and gave him information on the players and the team’s status. Fikret Orman, who stayed at Donetsk for 3 days, didn’t come to watch the Akhisar Belediyespor match for this reason. In the meetings, the team’s status, contracts, financial status and transfers were talked about and it’s been learned that the meetings ended on a positive.

Lucescu, who has decided to leave Ukraine, is leaning towards working at Beşiktaş, but stated that he wanted the transfer budget to increase so that he can restructure the team. However, due to the agreement that was made with UEFA, there’s no chance for the Black Eagles to lose money on transfers next season. Therefore, to increase the transfer budget, some players need to be sold.

The Romanian coach worked at Beşiktaş in the 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons and played a big part in the team’s championship in the club’s 100th year anniversary. After the championship that Beşiktaş lost next season to Fener, who came behind from 11 points, Lucescu left Turkey and became the head coach of Shaktar Donetsk.
